On Sept. 9, 2008, Torch Technologies was awarded a five-year, $57,398,928 Task Order as a Direct Award through the Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC, (AMS) AMCOM EXPRESS BPA to support the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) System Simulation and Development Directorate (SSDD).
U.S. tactical missiles provide the Warfighter with the tools of engagement that help ensure that the solider sent to defend U.S. interests will return safely back to American soil. These tactical missiles must react more quickly and operate more effectively, as well as engage further and achieve a force multiplier that shortens the engagement in an overwhelmingly decisive manner. AMRDEC actively adds value to the entire life-cycle decisions for every tactical missile used by the U.S. Army. The joint nature of today’s engagements also requires AMRDEC and SSDD to work across services to ensure interoperability and battlefield effectiveness.
Torch Technologies considers it a sacred trust to be given this opportunity through the AMS BPA to continue our long and successful partnership by working in the area of development, analysis and simulation of tactical missiles. We understand that errors found and corrected in a simulation environment may very well save the life of soldiers in the field. Our team currently consists of 18 other subcontractors that actively support government agencies with tactical missile-related work. The Torch team brings broad-based expertise and exceptional experience in technologies relevant to Tactical Missile Systems.
“The depth and breadth of the knowledge and expertise that Torch Technologies and our team bring to the table is a huge asset,” Torch CEO Bill Roark said. “To work with a customer who exemplifies the same qualities is a privilege.”
Roark looks forward to a long and successful relationship supporting our Warfighters.
