The Alabama Information Technology Association today announced winners at its third annual Leadership in Technology Awards Banquet, held at Birmingham’s Wynfrey Hotel on Oct. 26. Torch Technologies placed as a finalist for the Technology Company of the Year in the Small Business category. Other nominees represented the entire state, with finalists and winners from Mobile, Montgomery, Birmingham and Huntsville.
The event honored winners in the following four categories: Large Company of the Year; Small Company of the Year; Entrepreneur of the Year; and Top IT Executive of the Year. The criteria for the Large and Small Company categories included the company’s being located within the state, as well as its having proven successful in such distinguishing factors such as employee pride, financial growth strategic analysis, recent introductions of new of new or updated products and/or services, strategic alliances, acquisitions and historical profitability.
The delineation between Large and Small company was set at $15 million.
