Torch Technologies’ Aviation Division has been awarded the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 rating.
CMMI is a process improvement approach meant to help organizations improve their performance and can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division or an entire organization. The approach was developed by a group of experts from industry, government and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. CMMI models provide guidance for developing or improving processes that meet the business goals of an organization.
Using CMMI ensures activities are explicitly linked to business objectives, and visibility into the organization’s activities is increased to help ensure that products or services meet the customer’s expectations.
“We are very pleased that our aviation team has achieved the CMMI Level 3 rating,” Torch COO Scott Parker said. “Along with our current ISO 9001-certified processes, the CMMI processes will enable us to further enhance the quality of the superior software products and services we deliver to our government customers.”
