Retired Brig. Gen. Larry Capps, Member of the Board of Directors

 

Larry Capps joined Torch Technologies as a member of the Board of Directors in August, 2009. He is Chief Executive officer of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama where he directs and manages Alabama's major tourist attraction. He previously served as Manager of Raytheon Company's Huntsville Operations, and Director of Raytheon's Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence Operations. He retired as a Brigadier General from the U.S. Army in 1991. His last assignment was that of Deputy commanding General of the Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal.

 

Mr. Capps graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. He received a Master of Science degree in Operations Research/Systems Analysis from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He is also a graduate of the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Defense Language Institute, the Defense Systems Management College, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

 

Mr. Capps has served on a number of civic organizations such as the Tennessee Valley Chapter of Boy Scouts of America, Board of Directors of the Huntsville-Madison County United Way, the National Children's Advocacy Center Capital Campaign Committee, and Chairman of the Military Affairs Committee of the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
